Ruma National Park is the only terrestrial park in Kenya's Nyanza Province. Dubbed the "Last Retreat of the Roan Antelope", the park protects the only indigenous population of rare roan antelopes within Kenya
Ruma was established to protect the rare Roan antelopes, which exist nowhere else in Kenya. It is also popular for its rare intra - African migrant, the blue swallow, and other over 400 bird species. The park was named by one of Kenyas most powerful wizards, the much-feared Gor Mahia.
