we have sailed all the islands up the Queensland coast and fitzroy island is on top of my list. pretty island with rainforest, barrier reef a step away, great walks and the list goes on.

Fitzroy is a great day trip on the boat. Leave from Cairns Marina. Have a few cocktails at Foxy bar and enjoy the day.

Fitzroy Island caters for over night stays, day trippers and camping. Beach equipment hire such as kayaks, stinger suits, goggles, snorkels and flippers are available. Regular ferry services depart from Cairns Marlin Wharf-Berth 20. See Fitzroy Island web site for details. 21 minutes and 11 km from Rain-forest House to the ferry.
