Mile long walking beach, has a lagoon for younger kids as waves can be strong on the beach. bug spray is a must here. after visit to this beach, we always stop at nearby Five islands for sea food and ice cream
This little beach is great for sea glass, shells, sand dollars or just enjoying the sea and what it has to offer. Be aware, there are green head flies and they bite so bring sunscreen with bug repellent in it. Dogs welcome during a certain season and must be leashed. There is a park fee *
Reid State Park offers both sand beaches & rocky a coast line, hiking trails, bird watching, and picnic tables and grills throughout the park. The two beaches, Mile Long Beach & Half Mile Beach are separated by a large rocky divide. The Lagoon is a shallow & safer place for kids to swim & has warmer water temperatures. Two bath houses make it easy to remove sand before making it to your vehicle. There are no concession stands, & trash is a carry in carry out policy. So come prepared if you plan to stay a while. The park is open daily from 9 AM to dusk. Admission: Adult Nonresident $8.00, Adult Maine Resident $6.00, Senior Nonresident $2.00, Children ages 5-11 $1.00, under 5 is free.
