I’m a fan of French novelist George Sand, so this museum is a personal favorite of mine, because it offers the chance to peruse the mementos from her life: portraits, jewelry, homewares. The temporary exhibits are also engaging and provide a view into the lives of literary icons like Baudelaire and Rousseau through art and memorabilia. When the weather allows, from mid-March to mid-October, stay for a cup of tea and a piece of cake in the museum’s garden tea salon. You’ll quickly forget you’re in a bustling city.

Museu gratuït. Molt bonic. És molt agradable el jardí, on es pot descansar sota els arbres i, si es vol, prendre un te i pastes.

A lovely little museum devoted to the romantic artists of the nineteen century. There is a beautiful garden also and a terrace where you can have drinks and a snack. It's 20 mn walk away from the flat. Address: 16 rue Chaptal 75009

Very small, romantic, quite secret museum The museum recreates a harmonious historical setting evoking the romantic period. In the museum's garden, the seasonal tearoom, a real haven of peace (open from March to October)
