The Palace of Festivals of Cantabria, located in front of the bay of Santander, is an emblematic auditorium that has become an architectural and cultural symbol of Santander of the 21st century. Work of the architect Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza, was completed in 1991. Since then it has hosted, throughout the year, an extensive cultural program of its own, attracting the most important personalities of the national and international scene. Its facilities also host important international events such as the International Festival of Santander, the International Piano Competition of Santander-Paloma O'Shea or the Music and Academy Meeting of the Reina Sofía School.
