Caffe Reggio

Caffe Reggio survives as a remnant of an Italian neighborhood that once existed in the area. A locals’ coffee and pastry stop, it's maintained its old world, bohemian vibe since 1927. The chairs and tables are out of a Fellini movie, a magnificent 1902 espresso machine pumps out warm coffee, and Italian antiques and paintings decorate the walls. Grab a seat on the antique bench along the back wall. It’s a Medici family antique.

1927 - The perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee. An Italian staple since 1927, rumor has it they brought the first espresso machine to the US from Italy and introduced America to the cappuccino as we know it today. Scenes from the Godfather were filmed here and in 1959 it was John F. Kennedy’s choice for a speech in his Presidential campaign.

This is my favorite spot in Manhattan. Quaint cafe with awesome espresso and they let you sit there and talk for hours without pressuring you to leave. Great for catching up with friends or dates.

THE first cafe in the United States to serve a Cappuccino... They have great coffee here, and a cool vibe. We would recommend the double espresso with bailey's! It's a trip!
