Uniqaly, there are several caves under Budapest on the Buda side. This is told to be the most spectacular. Not an anavarage destination for a typical stay, but if you have the time and interest, why not?

Tours to the cave start every hour and last 40 minutes, but it is closed on Tuesdays. It is a 250 m walk among the stalagmites in 12 C degrees, the air is very good for asthma and allergies!

Cave- The Szemlő-hegy cave is just one among many of the area's caves, which were created differently from the cold-water caves such as the famous Baradla cave of the Aggtelek Karst. The Szemlő-hegy cave was created by the upwarding hot thermal water, which created the special forms such as popcorn or cauliflowers.
