The Palace cornerstone was laid on July 8, 1897 in the presence of King Carol I of Romania and his wife, Queen Elizabeth. CEC Palace was built by architect Paul Gottereau and features special French architecture from the late nineteenth century. It was finished in 1900

This building is the main building of the CEC Bank. It started being built on 8th June 1987, in the presence of King Carol I and Queen Elisabeth. Until 1875 it used to be "Saint John the Great" Monastery and Inn, which dated since the XVI century. This monastery was restored by Constantin Brancoveanu in 1702 - 1703, then degraded, being demolished in 1875. The current building was build by Paul Gottereau, with XIX century French architecture elements. It was finished in 1900.
