The area was very much involved in mining, mainly tin and copper. Once the capital of the World. There is still a lot of evidence of this industrial heritage. The museum will give you an idea of what happened underground, the mining and then the production. You will then have a better understanding of life in those times and look at the old engine and pump houses differently. The Great Flat Lode is nearby and again a great chance to enjoy a bit of fresh air while seeing a lot of history and scenery.

King Edward Mine is a 15 minute walk from our hut or a 2 minute drive. Guided tours are available of the old mining works. Why not pop in for coffee and cake at The Croust Hut which is situated opposite!

Its on the great flat lode, so can be visited walking or cycling brilliant "Croust" cafe . Croust is cornish for Crust- snack.

If you want to understand Cornwall's mining heritage this is the place to go. Working exhibits, down to earth, hands on and surrounded by the fantastic mining landscapes of the Great Flat Lode. The Croust Hut provides excellent luches and snacks.
