The original portion of Fall River Hatchery construction was completed in 1929. Many improvements have been made since original construction. In 1952 the ten raceways were completed. The hatchery produces legal and trophy sized rainbow trout, and provides rainbow, brook and cutthroat trout fingerlings for air stocking programs throughout the state. Fall River is beautiful and the fish hatchery offers an up close look at Rainbow trout. Don't forget to take some quarters so you can feed the fish!

Driving west from Snow Goose Ave on South Century Dr, cross the bridge over the Big Deschutes River and continue a few miles along the pristine water of Fall River to the hatchery on the left. Along this short drive, you will also note an access road left to La Pine State Park. Take this road half a mile to the bridge where short trails lead downstream to the Fall River Falls. Other longer trails lead through the park to the Deschutes River. Staying on S. Century Dr westward, observe the numerous parking areas that access a gentle trail upstream to the Fall River Campground footbridge. The Fall River is fly fishing only. The hatchery itself offers a peaceful experience for your family.
