A quick ten minute ride over to Plymouth. the ferry takes you to Stone house which is a short walk to Royal William Yard

this little ferry that takes only walking passengers and bikes/pushchairs) is just down the road and takes you to Mount Edgecumbe. Lovely National Trust place with views over Plymouth.
