Transport yourself back to WWII time when you step through the door & walk across the original hardwood floors of this historically-furnished apartment in one of the "K" buildings that housed the workers for the WWII Manhattan Project here in the "Secret City." Though we've taken liberties by adding new stainless steel appliances, new washer, dryer, lux bedding, t.v. & wi-fi for your comfort, we hope you'll enjoy your journey back into time with our all 1943 or before furnishings and décor.
Perfect place to stay if you're visiting or working in the area!! You'll have a completely private one-bedroom apartment, kitchen, living room & bath equipped with new high-end appliances and fixtures, a private living room with a small tv & wi-fi and a large, furnished private front porch with a completely wooded view that's often filled with deer, squirrels, various woodpeckers, birds and hawks, and an occasional racoon. No pets allowed, and entire grounds & apartment are a non-smoking environment. You must go up the hill off-ground to the public street to smoke-strictly enforced with outside video cameras and the maid's noses inside :). Breakfast foods, bottled water, tea, coffee, creamer & sugar provided. We've also provided bedside multi-plug electrical & USB hubs with a USB -powered fan (on top shelf in closet) available for each side of the bed. Bed is dressed with a luxury cooling gel foam mattress pad, 100% cotton hotel-quality sheets, luxuriously soft pillows, and a comforter that is freshly washed for every guest (along with the sheets, of course!) You may move the furniture around in the living room or kitchen to make room for the provided blow-up queen mattress to accommodate up to 4 guests. Sheets, mattress pad & comforter for that are in the hall closet along with the extra towels.
*Please note there is not an elevator to access this apartment, and though it is on the first floor, you will need to be able to take yourself & luggage up 8 steps with a hand-rail to access the front porch and entry-way to it.

We HIGHLY recommend Dean's Restaurant at Jackson Square- portions are large (it’s really enough for two if you don’t want to take leftovers home!) and it’s absolutely DELICIOUS!!! The roast beef nearly melts in your mouth it's so tender. He cooks and serves Mon - Fri 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM http://www.deansrestaurantandbakery.com/
And we also recommend Big Ed's Pizza just around the corner from Jackson Square- the pizza's DELICIOUS - but you'll need to blow on it some before you eat it, as it arrives at your table literally just out of their ovens-- PIPING hot! http://www.bigedspizzaoakridge.com/about-big-ed/
