Our inn was apparently built in the early Showa period. We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee. 簡易宿所(旅館業営業許可済) スギエ(SUGIE) は、明治の遺産琵琶湖疎水に囲まれた環境の良い、京都駅まで30分京阪三条まで35分とアクセスにも恵まれた広々とした古民家です。私の祖父母は昭和初期から上記の疎水(インクライン)を使って木造船で京都の神社仏閣に白砂、砂利、門柱に使う御影石等を京都蹴上まで運ぶ豪商でした、商売繁盛するようにと家の庭に鳥居と社を作りお稲荷さんを祭りました。大きな水屋(食器入れ)や欅の長火鉢、家紋入りの提灯入れ等古くて珍しいものがたくさん飾ってあります。
