Situato ad un passo dal confine con la Slovenia e la Carinzia, a pochi chilometri da Tarvisio, due comprensori sciistici vicinissimi e a due passi dal meraviglioso Lago di Raibl e dal maestoso monte Mangart. La miniera di Raibl, il museo minerario assieme al museo storico militare della Grande Guerra rendono il paese di Cave del Predil un luogo interessante anche da un punto di vista storico e culturale. Lunghe piste ciclabili e meravigliosi sentieri di trekking rendono questo luogo favoloso.

Più vicino a 9 km si trovano Gemona del Friuli e Venzone .Per il periodo invernale le zone sciistiche sono lo Zoncolan a 35km , Tarvisio 45 km e Nassfeld
