The Cuckoo's Nest Glamping Huts: Woody

This is one of two glamping huts at The Cuckoo’s Nest. Inspired by traditional Celtic roundhouses these little wooden huts are situated in the beautiful remote crofting township of Locheynort in the Isle of South Uist. Conveniently located approximately a mile from the main road linking the Isles of Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula and North Uist, the huts offer an idyllic base from which to explore the islands, to pause whist travelling along the Hebridean Way, or to take a relaxing short break.

Heatherbell is a fantastic base for exploring our stunning landscapes and wildlife. Enjoy the splendid sunsets from the decking. In late summer it is surrounded by lovely purple heather which grows freely and abundantly spreading its glorious purple hues across our hills and glens. A self catering pod in a quiet area, five minute walk to the beautiful sandy beach on the west coast of South Uist. Close to the renowned golf course designed by the old Tom Morris. Great for local Trout, Salmon & Sea Trout fishing and a great base for those who like hillwalking. Listen to the corncrake call from the outside picnic bench. Bicycles can be stored in the shed. Newly installed in 2021, the Cabin (often called a Storm Pod) is a self-contained luxury haven. Perched beside a small fresh-water loch and overlooking Loch Boisdale. It has a ¾ double bed, single bed and a fold-down bunk. Cooking facilities and a separate shower with WC. Outside there's a fenced courtyard with great Hebridean views for your enjoyment. Although there is sleeping for 4 available, the accommodation is more suited to couples or single occupancy.
