Frankies treehouse hut is right next to Scorching Bay - one of Wellingtons best beaches. A perfect escape for nature lovers who want to get back to basics and enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors. I'm an architect, and originally designed the studio as a workspace at the rear of our home for my photographer husband, Ian. We've recently converted it to a self-contained dwelling, so we can share what we love about the city. Cafes, shops & restaurants, walks around the harbour & hills - It's all within easy reach, or just sit back & relax.

The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is a unique, romantic place on the South Coast. Stunning views, opposite a swimming and dog beach plus rock pools, it’s great for walks. With a comfy double bed and steep stairs, it’s private and quiet - brilliant on a sunny day, cosy in a storm. There's a fantastic cafe around the corner; shops are 10 minutes’ walk away. The main Island Bay bus stop is nearby with regular buses. It's a 9 minute drive to the airport and 15 minutes to downtown Wellington. Small dogs on request.

Private, clean & warm studio. Comfortable queen bed, en-suite & TV/lounge area. Dining table/desk. Trundler bed on request. NO KITCHEN but microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, cereal, tea & coffee provided. Street parking. Off street parking on request. Medium friendly house trained dogs welcome, $25 per booking. Dogs cannot be left for more than 2 hrs. Add pets to the booking. Our friendly medium sized dog has free range of the shared fenced back yard & barks to greet arriving guests.
