My house is very conveniently located: Keihan railway (Demachiyanagi station) is 1 minute away walking. Shimogamo Jinja (shrine) is 5 minutes walking. Ginkaku-ji (temple) is 10minutes walking. We hope that you enjoy that.This house is located near train station and bus stop and kamo River. So Access to Nara and Osaka is also very convenient. You can also go to the downtown area by walking. There is the Heian shrine and Kyoto imperial palace near by too.( in about 15min walking). There are also local food restaurants and nice cafes around.

Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.
