By far the best restaurant in Liverpool. Has a fine dinning and pub section with an outdoor terrace. The seafood chowder with homemade scone is brilliant. Always some good local fish on the menu.

A must see institution on the south shore. This historic bakery also serves lunch. A brilliant 35 minute scenic drive or 40km (one way) bike along the #331 lighthouse route. check out the craft store, art gallery and custom skateboard shop on the upper floors.
You can take the LeHavre ferry beside the bakery across the river and carry on to Lunenberg or Mahone bay. Its $5 per car and comes every 30 minutes.

OK....So the kids need a break from all the beach and water sports. Its not disney but this amusement park makes for a good day trip. 1.5 hrs drive and you get to stop in Annapolis Royal. A must see victorian town with fort.

Rainy day activity with the kids. Neon bowling with kids size balls. If you can get past the smell of stale beer from the pub next door the bowling is really fun and you almost always have the place to your self.
