Food Scene

Some of the best bagels you will ever taste. Fresher than fresh. A very "neighborhood" kind of place that brings back the memories of what Brooklyn was like before gentrification.

An old-fashioned NYC diner. The sort that used to be all over the city but have been squeezed out of existence by greedy landlords.

Farrell's is historic and iconic. It is a relic of the days when the neighborhood was working class Irish. Not the friendliest spot in Brooklyn, but worth a visit to get a "container" of beer and overhear the conversations. They mostly voted for Trump.

Parks & Nature

It's right down the block. Fredric Law Olmsted, the park architect who designed Central Park in Manhattan, as well as many other parks across the US, said the Prospect Park was the jewel in his crown of achievement. As Brooklyn's back yard, it is really overcrowded on weekends, but it gives the visitor a glimpse of the beautiful people in our Borough.

A very interesting cultural excursion into the largest community of Orthodox Jews outside of Israel. ONe of the few places in the world where you will hear Yiddish spoken as an everyday language. Some good bargain shopping along 13th Avenue, too.
