Elegant self-contained garden room accommodation ideal for short breaks, business trips or a romantic weekend in a peaceful location
The property is a detached annexe with rural views private bbq/patio and exclusive use of secluded riverside seating area. There is access to stunning hot tub, for a nominal additional charge of £10.00 per session, with views along the river. (Please note: The hot tub is also used by Sally, and her guests and friends, please liaise with regard to booking times to use this facility.) It is located in her garden, albeit in a private setting, within the substantial grounds. The annexe has a fully fitted kitchenette with dishwasher. Continental breakfast is provided for the first morning of your stay. There is also a well-stocked pantry which includes, tea, coffee, cereals etc. The property is dog friendly, for cat friendly dogs, with prior arrangement. (Please note: any damage to soft furnishings, or the like, will require compensation.) Loft bedroom with 'Hypnos' kingsize bed and single bed, if required. Sitting room with comfortable double sofa-bed and large armchair plus dining table. Please note the accommodation is 'cosy' for 4 people. Should you need accommodation for more guests part of the main cottage is also available under the title 'Romantic Riverside Retreat' Private off-street parking. Excellent country walks on the doorstep. Great local pubs and restaurants nearby.
Sally's property is in a countryside location close to the village of Ayot St. Lawrence. Ayot St Lawrence is one of a group of villages which make up 'The Ayots'. It is the location of the National Trust run Shaw's Corner, home of George Bernard Shaw, which is open to the public, and where his plays are held in the gardens. There is also an annual Art Show held in the neo-classical Greek style church grounds. There is excellent walking in the area with local footpaths, including the Hertfordshire Way, situated adjacent to the annexe so guests can walk directly from the property onto open countryside and woodlands. Close by is the famous Brocket Hall which has two award winning golf courses. Guests can apply for day memberships in advance, and the award winning Auberge du Lac, located at the Hall, is open for lunch and dinner. For the wizards among you the Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour is a short drive away and has won best UK attraction for the last 2 years. The gothic Knebworth House and jacobean Hatfield House are both are worth a visit and within a 20 minute drive away. Hatfield also has a super, well run cafe and petting zoo. For those interested in the Roman history, nearby are the Welwyn Roman Baths and farther a field in St Albans are the much grander Roman Theatre, Verulamium Museum and Park. The magnificent St Albans Cathedral is worth a visit and the town also hosts a popular street market every Wednesday and Saturday. Further afield is the wonderful Henry Moore Foundation in the village of Perry Green with a number of his famous sculptures placed in the large gardens. There is a lovely onsite cafe selling drinks, cakes and light lunches. Every year the Foundation couples with other artists and displays a variety of works associated with Henry Moore. Previous years have included works by Rodin and Damien Hurst. Welwyn Garden City, Hertford and Cambridge are also all within exploring distance of the Annexe.

The Ayots, St Albans, Regne Unit

Only 30 mins from London yet set amongst thousands of acres of woodland and countryside, the Pumping Station has miles of footpaths and bike trails directly on its doorstep, and is engulfed by birdlife, wildlife and endless country pubs.
The Pumping Station annex has been converted from a 1888 industrial building (see Channel 4's Restoration Man) and comprises a 6x4m living and kitchen area, a 3.6x3m double bedroom and 3x2m bath/shower room. (There is an additional 3.2x3m bedroom that can be included in the rental by the locking and unlocking of various doors. This is included in the rental for numbers over 2 people.) It is underfloor centrally heated throughout by ultra efficient heat pumps; hot water comes from the sun, as does 50% of it's electricity; it is lit almost exclusively by LEDs and has 35Mb WiFi broadband. A 'breakfast' island for for 4/5 bums has been cleverly designed for lunch and dinner as well... The kitchen has an induction hob, a combo oven and microwave, and a large fridge freezer, a small dishwasher and a sink with a 'very nice tap'. The other half of the living area has a lovely sofa bed (6'x 3'6"), Freeview TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, a B&W Zeppelin and various USB and iPhone adapters. The main bedroom has a double bed and any number of shaker pegs for your stuff. We can swap out the shelves for and extra 5' child's bed. The second bedroom has a bunk that converts to two singles or pushes together to make a double - and a third, pull-out single. And, we have various cots and baby baskets if needed.
The Pumping Station is surrounded by around two thousand acres of woodland reserve, footpaths, bike trails and country pubs, yet it's only 30 mins out of London. It is all utterly beautiful. Whether you're looking for a quiet weekend of walks and nature, or sweaty peddling there's a trail for you and every one seems to pass by a pub. Newgate Street is a small village of a few hundred residents, a church, a playground, two pubs and a restaurant. It's a 10 min walk along the road or an hours adventure through the woods and over the top of the rail tunnel.

Close by is Jersey Farm Woodland Park and Heartswood Forest, where a variety of wild flowers and wildlife can be found. It is a 10 minute drive into St. Albans town centre, which boasts a huge variety of restaurants, bars, cafes and spas. St. Albans is steeped in history, with a Cathedral, the remains of a Roman theatre and museums showing Roman artifacts. It is also close to Harry Potter Studios and historic Hatfield House.

It is ideally located on the edge of open countryside (with some lovely walks!), but with easy access to Hertford town; Ware; Stevenage; Hatfield and Knebworth. London is served by Hertford's 2 mainline stations, serving Liverpool Street & Kings Cross/Moorgate. The garden offers space for al fresco dining or a morning coffee on the patio! (Where smoking is allowed). Please make an enquiry even if the calendar doesn’t show your preferred date/s. I like to be around for “new” guests upon check in and sometimes block a date if I know I’m going to be out!
I am situated in a quiet, leafy residential area of Bengeo on the edge of Hertford, next to open countryside and Nature Reserve, with beautiful walks and a nearby enclosed children's play park and large field. There are usually other people in the house, so it's a sociable place. Everyone is very respectful of the need for peace and quiet after 10pm! You will be sharing a bathroom for the shower. There is a separate loo. You have full use of the kitchen, your own shelf in the fridge and a dry-food storage box if staying for any length of time.
Built in 1958, this house is very spacious and has been decorated very nicely.
I am situated about 15 minutes walk from the 2 University campuses, the business park and the railway station. 5 minutes walk from the Hatfield Galleria and Asda and Aldi.... so very convenient for anyone associated with these concerns. The swimming pool is 5 minutes walk away too.

Hello, Thank you for your interest in our lovely double bedroom which has recently been refurbished. The room is part of a two bedroom end of terrace house. The room is located a 9 minute walk from the Welwyn Garden City station and the centre of town. Guests can make use of the kitchen and all cooking utensils, we have a dishwasher, washing machine, there's a tv in the room and fibre optic broadband is included. There is free street parking, we also have a garden which you're welcome to use.
Welwyn Garden City is a beautiful town, we are a 9 minute walk away from the centre which has big supermarkets, multiple shopping centres, restaurants, pubs and bars. There are buses that operate in the area and frequent trains that go straight into London/Cambridge and surrounding areas. We are also just down the road from Shire Park, which can be reached by car in a few minutes, or by foot in about 20 minutes (if the sun is shining!)

I have an apartment for rent for weekends only at the moment which is 4 miles from Luton airport and a 30 minute train journey into London Kings Cross. You will have access to the whole apartment and I will only be there to welcome you and help with anything you need. Harpenden is a lovely place with nice restaurants and bars just a 15 min walk away. Longer stays are negotiable. Now with WIFi.
The apartment will be available for your sole use only.
The apartment is 4 miles from Luton airport. Harpenden station is a 10 minute walk for trains into London kings Cross (30 mins). The town is also a 10 minute walk from the apartment where there is a selection of pubs and restaurants. There are food shops within a 3 minute walk from the apartment.

At the back of the estate you can access the local bird reserve.
The town house stretch over 3 floors. The large guest room is on the top floor with a private bathroom with all the extras. The doors can be locked for security. The room has a TV, Broadband, small fridge/freezer, electric kettle, a tray with tea/coffee selection, filter water, hair drier, a desk and chair with drawers.
