This charming, stone-built terraced cottage is situated in a residential area just 2 miles from Oakworth and Haworth which both boast some lovely eaterues, cafes, pubs and restaurants as wel as antique and quaint shops.
It is comfortable accommodation that is an ideal touring base for those looking to visit Bronte Country and the Yorkshire Dales. Many come to visit the parsonage where the Brontes lived during the 1820s and see the surrounding moorlands where they drew inspiration for their classic tales, as well as their museums.
While there is something for everyone in the town itself, the nearby market town of Skipton, boasting cobbled streets, a medieval castle and award-winning high street makes a wonderful day out.
Further afield, are Hebden Bridge and the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, as well as the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, just over half an hour's drive away.
There's a fantastic convenience store only 5 minutes walk down the road, which is also on the way to Ingrow Railway station (ideal to hop on the train to visit Haworth and the other wonderful areas within the Bronte Parsonage. Also, guests have found that the 'Main Street' in Haworth has great pubs and a 'Gin Bar' where the staff are wonderful and always recommend different gins to try! There are some lovely pubs in Oakworth as well. In Stanbury there is a local pub called 'Wuthering Heights' that does great food, and you can sit and relax outside looking over the stunning fields.

We bought 'Whinswood Cottage' 2 years ago as we love Keighley, Haworth and the surrounding beautiful areas. Whenever we visit Yorkshire, we love to stay here. We feel we have made it into a comfy and cosy place to stay where you can relax and listen to the sound of the steam train go by, and as a base to explore the local area and other parts of Yorkshire.
Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, can be seen from all bedrooms and makes a lovely day out, with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area is full of popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail.
A six minute drive brings you to Haworth, a beautifully atmospheric old town, with its famous literary history, myriad of curiosity and cobbled streets against a backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights, making it a great spot to go for a day out, to visit the quaint and antique shops and enjoy its choice of pubs and restaurants. Being formerly home to the Bronte sisters, the town is steeped in literary history.
It offers a variety of walks allowing visitors to follow the scenic trails of Heathcliffe and Catherine along the famous Top Withens across the rugged, heather-dressed moors, and nearby, the Bronte Falls, making the perfect base for those seeking fresh air and a relaxing, healthy break.
The market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, boasting fabulous shops, an excellent theatre and the fantastic Royal Pump Room Museum; York - filled with attractions, Leeds and Manchester, four elegant and vibrant places to see. Indeed, nearby Skipton was voted as the ‘Best Place to Live’ in Britain in 2014, with its cobbled streets and delightful castle. There's so much to see and do in Yorkshire, you'll be kept busy no matter how long your visit !
