The SLU Seattle Streetcar (inbound) stops directly in front of the building. Hop on and get connected to Link Light Rail all the way to the airport or catch a bus to Capitol Hill, Ballard or Queen Anne. South Lake Union is a hotbed of construction activity and although there is nothing currently happening next to the building, the area is alive with workers during the day. Evenings are quiet and relaxing.

The Chestnut stays cool in the summer and cozy in the winter with its heated concrete floors. Open all twelve windows south and west and you might think you’re in a treehouse. This space is thoughtfully designed as a restful retreat after a long day of exploring or hectic day of business travel. If you like to cook, the kitchen is complete with a gas range, a full size electric oven, microwave, under counter refrigerator/ freezer, farm style sink, and all the needed utensils. Look for the many public art pieces nearby or walk along the gorgeous ship canal. There are plenty of food options within walking distance and a number of buses that will easily take you downtown, east to the University district, west to Ballard, and north to greater North Seattle.

Inspired by the show Tiny House Nation, I thought it would be fun to convert my small detached garage into my vision of a comfortable and modern living space with all the amenities. It's approx. 210 sq ft or 11 x 19 ft but has the feel of a much larger place . We are located in an amazing spot on the top of Queen Anne. Macrina's Bakery is just 100 ft along with the #2 Metro bus to take you downtown in just 10 minutes. We feel lucky to live in such a beautiful neighborhood!
