Familiar recreation stop with kid-friendly wading & tidal pools, picnic shelters & play equipment.
Especially for families with Toddlers and little children. Very protected play area with white sand bottom. A good place to BBQ and Picnic.
One of the few white sand beaches on the eastern side of the island. Home to a few great swimming holes, safe for lounging and even snorkeling! (Make a left when you park and follow the coast during low tide to find awesome swimming holes)
Great little calm swimming beach for kids. Enzo’s ice cream truck is parked here most days.

“How do you say sea turtle in Hawaiian? HONU! Richardson's is home to many Honu on the East Coast of Hawaii. A place where the shore stays calm and the temperatures stay cool, get out for a swim, a dip. Throw your blanket down and enjoy the day. Perfect spot for picknicks. Lifeguards are usually on duty and the vibe is fun and energetic. Remember, it is unlawful and fineable to touch the Honu. ”
