New Zealand roads are challenging. It's easy to underestimate driving times. Even if you are used to traffic on the left side of the road, make sure you are well rested before you take to the road.

Uber is the way to go for getting round the inner city but across the road on Nelson street is a public carpark if you bring your own car and car rental office to hire one if you plan to go further afield
