Welcome to Richard Flavin's Washi House! Richard Flavin (1943–2020) was a Japanese paper artist originally from the US. He studied design in Boston and came to Japan in 1970. He later studied woodblock printing and developed a deep interest in the production of washi. He also cultivated the raw material for washi paper, paper mulberry. We invite those interested in washi paper and art to stay overnight and enjoy this space, reminiscent of a washi paper museum, including these unfinished areas.

Please make sure to inform us of your wishes at the time of booking.

The Camping Yard is a facility designed for both those who like to camp and those who don't like to camp to enjoy it easily. You can put up your favorite tent and enjoy bonfires and BBQ.
