Drinks & Nightlife

Best selection of beers in Davis Square; no national brand here! There's generally about 30 on draught to choose from; many are local. The food is upscale comfort/pub; my favorite are the soft tacos!

I'd almost call this a theme bar. It's supposed to be reminiscent of old Speakeasy. The bartenders know their stuff and can easily come up with inventions according to your needs.

This is one of those places that I remember people stumbling drunk out of as a kid and so I have never set foot in there. It's a total Dive Bar, so if you're into that, this place is for you!

The bar is rather nice and the selection of beers is usually pretty good. The food is *mostly* good but in the upper end of moderate.

This is NOT your typical pizza joint. Reservations are a good idea. Boasts the only place around with a pizza certified by the Neapolitan Pizza Authority. Crust is amazing.

This place is a Davis Sq. Landmark. Lines form daily to get it at night. It's Southern BBQ and, frankly, I don't like it, but so many people do, there most be something there!

Another fixture in Davis Square that's been here forever! And another place that you couldn't pay me to eat at. The pizza is ok and the prices are cheap; mostly caters to a college crowd.

Not bad Indian food, lousy service. It's the best of what we have for Indian in Davis, though. Lunch buffet is cheap.

This place is fun and is a converted (and still functioning) bowling alley. Weekend days it's full of screaming kids though. Bar is cool at night and so are the bartenders. Pizza is good.

Many people love this place and the atmosphere is nice. Coffee is not bad. Good sandwiches. They are gay friendly but god help you if you get in line while talking on a cell phone.

The only Mexican place in Davis Square and a very good one at that. Don't go here for typical Tex-Mex. The bar side is MUCH nicer than the restaurant and is a new expansion.

A vegan/veggie place that does sandwiches, soups and smoothies. Not the friendliest people, but ingredients are high quality. Sandwiches are hit or miss and smoothies are good.

A falafel place where you assemble your own sandwich. I'm generally opposed to having to build my own food; I'd stay home for that. However, the falafel seems good, though I'm no expert.

Everything Else

The first yogurt bar to Davis and a PinkBerry wannabe. They have some nice flavors and the yogurt tastes like yogurt (it's sour). Price climbs very quickly with topping and is sold by weight. Not bad.
