Don't expect boring, flavourless food at Freo's Raw Food Kitchen - the crew behind this much-loved restaurant are dishing out some of the most unique and tastiest fare in town. The renovated airy warehouse will have you lusting over the minimalist industrial interior while the menu will see you deciding between a huge range of raw, dairy, gluten and sugar-free eats like nachos, pad thai, zucchini pasta and raw balls. With a coffee counter, juice station, store and yoga studio, it has us asking: can we just move in?

In a huge shared space in Fremantle’s new East End, The Mantle is an activity hub for creatives and foodies, housing several restaurants, a bar, collaborative working spaces, art and a fully-equipped commercial kitchen that can be rented to help out new food businesses. The space is set up to bring people together to eat, drink, work and play, inside a beautiful old warehouse with an innovative interior design featuring lots of funky recycled pieces. Sleek and stylishly minimalist Perth Japanese restaurant, The Modern Eatery, specialises in Aburi sushi – a style where the fish is partially cooked with a blow torch and partially raw, resulting in a subtle buttery and smokey flavour. This Freo venue serves up fresh and delicious Aburi sushi alongside a good range of uramaki, sashimi, nigari and tempura, in a young and fun environment. Try one of the elaborately named and made craft rolls while you sip on 12-year-old Japanese whiskey. Perfect.

Great spot for some music and drinks. Little creatures Brewery is next door to this spot (can't seem to find it on the search option so i am adding it in here). Great for lunch and dinner although it can get super busy and may take a while to get served... Situated right on the water you can get a great view of Fremantle harbour if you sit out the back. This is a brewery so the design is amazing and you can actually take a tour of the brewery at certain times during the day. They have a great Freo seafood menu full of octopus, oysters and fresh fish. They also offer great share food and amazing beer!
