Park

Activities to do outside
This park is super close, has plenty of parking, miles of walking trails, and plenty of water fountains. It’s a great place to bring kids or dogs. There are 2 tennis courts that are free to play. Also a cute public swimming pool, but hours are seasonal.

Beautiful dog friendly and bike friendly park. There’s a large off leash area for dogs along hiking and biking trails. Additional (leashed) miles of trail span all over north Austin. Great place to run, bike, walk, or bring kids to play.

Food scene

My favorite under the radar sushi place. Quaint dining room but very intimate. The owners are creative and friendly and offer fabulous selections with a rotating list of fresh fish.

Be careful with dogs in the heat

Texas gets real hot and stays very hot late into the evening. Be conscious of the temperature of the asphalt / concrete wherever you go. I don’t walk my dog any later than 10am and no earlier than 6pm if temp highs are above 90°
