City/town information

Berea has a small college-town (Baldwin Wallace University is located here) vibe with easy access to all of the amenities anyone would need. It has unique restaurants, shops, and breweries within walking distance and an incredible landscape of beauty thanks to the many sources of water and abundant natural vegetation throughout the city that are largely protected in the Rocky River Reservation (part of the Metroparks). The people are Midwestern friendly and the community offers diverse experiences via the college, the county fairgrounds, and the Browns Training Camp -- all located in the city. Train enthusiasts also gather on the lawn near the tracks on Depot Street to view the many locomotives that travel through the city.

Their food is delicious - the best around. They also have wonderful cocktails and wines. When the weather is right, they offer outdoor seating. It's not a really large place, so it gets busy.

Mike's is great for dining and drinking. Their food is good and it's the local's favorite. Park on the street because their little lot doesn't have room for more than a few cars.

Sightseeing

This is a lovely park that is way beyond the newly installed and all-ability-friendly playground. You can stroll, fish, picnic, kayak, paddle board, skip rocks, or relax by the gorgeous stone fireplace in the pavilion. It's also a favorite spot for photos of high schoolers going to prom or homecoming. There's a lovely gazebo for concerts in the park and also the city's swimming pool is adjacent.

This is a cute spot with a little cafe on site. Sometimes the geese leave a mess behind, so watch out. You can also rent canoes or kayaks through the Metroparks here. A lifeguard is on duty during the summer months.

Biking or driving is the quickest transportation

Berea is less than ten minutes from Cleveland's airport, but the best way to get around the city is either by bicycle, vehicle or walking through the gorgeous metroparks.

Prepare for Shifting Weather Patterns

The weather shifts not only with seasons but also over the course of hours, so please prepare accordingly. It may be hot one day and autumnal the next. It may rain in the morning and then be sunny all afternoon. Comfortable clothes are a must in order to enjoy the paved and dirt paths throughout the Metroparks by our house.

Marcs

Marcs has an outlet area to the right when you enter the store. Look for discounted items and great deals in that area before venturing into the rest of the store.

Playground at Coe Lake

The playground at Coe Lake has a zip line for children and overall is accessible for children with multiple ability levels. There is also a "kiddie pool" at the city swimming pool and the Berea library is on the same campus with wonderful kids' librarians and programs.
