Walking
Go walking at the Haterste en Overasseltse vennen, or the Ooijpolder. Good to know: From Opoe Sientje (at ‘the Kaaij’, at the Waalkade, city center), you can walk into the Ooijpolder. It also has small beaches where you can stay, chill, and swim until 10.30 pm. It is nature however, so you can encounter some wild horses or cows. If you go into the river Waal, please make sure your feet can still touch the ground; the Waal (river) has a very strong current!

Go for a drink at Koningsplein (cafe de Opera, cafe de Deut), at the Grote Markt (camelot, moenen), Paak, Freddy’s Beerkitchen. Or go to brouwerij de Hemel - a brewery in the old city center which also has a good terrace to try out some local crafted beers. One of my favorite places is Opoe Sientje - go for a drink at a boat! Or choose a place at the terrace with your feet safely on shore. If you fancy a place in a nice old neighbourhood, go visit De kluizenaar or Cafe Maxim.
