The Schoolhouse Hotel Bar is situated along the Grand Canal and adjacent to Mount Street Bridge (the site of the Battle of Mount street Bridge during the early years of the revolution if 1916. The Bar is spacious with lofty ceilings and a mezzanine. It has comfortable seating throughout, two fireplaces and the food is good. The Bloody Marys are among the best that Dublin has to offer. Great spot for brunch or lunch.

Slattery’s Pub in Beggars Bush is fresh, bright, colourful with several different dedicated areas – a craft beer bar, a roof terrace and even a ‘love loft’. I’d argue that a pint of Guinness here is among the best in Dublin.

Upper Baggot Street was the literary quarter of the 1960’s and is now a popular spot among rugby fans attending the Aviva Stadium matches on the nearby Lansdowne road.They have a good food menu and a list of over 90 whiskies. If you want to know what it was like to visit the pub as a woman in 1845 then ring ahead and book the snug – tables partitioned in wood and stained glass to hide in!
