A nice range of sandwiches are offered here along with their own craft beers. Try a flight of cold beers while enjoying the patio. The main restaurant is kind of an upscale warehouse look, but it adjoins a charming Victorian house with some sweet stting rooms, perfect for quiet conversations and delicious desserts. Also- dog friendly!

Outdoor adventures

There are so many ways to get out and enjoy nature, from hiking to canoeing and more. Cycling groups are really popular around us. Several times a year, we see riders in our area, enjoying the winding, rolling backroads. Bring your bikes, hiking boots or kayak and explore the backroads of the Hill Country for yourself!
A system of trails is now about 6 mi long. As the name implies, it curls along the edge of the Guadalupe River. The trail winds past various businesses, homes, Louise Hays Park and even Shreiner University.

If you are a nature lover, this is a great site. One of 5 major bat roosts in Texas, this is a state park at an abandoned railroad tunnel. At dusk, watch 4 mil bats emerge for their nightly foraging. They migrate to the area, so you will only find them around late April to early October. For a few extra dollarget a seat just feet from the tunnel opening. Dinner at Clear Springs Café is a treat and just steps from the park. Let us know if you want info on more bat roosts, including the world's largest bat colony (seasonal, 1.5 hr drive each way). Your co-host, Fran, manages that 1500 ac site.
