Great local cafe and very dog friendly, my favorite items are cinnamon twist, cherry almond coffee cake, any of their coffee, lattes or smoothies, breakfast sandwich or breakfast burrito. Good place to grab to go food as well. (they buy their baked goods locally from bakery and have gluten free options as well).

One of the best restaurants in town in our opinion, needs reservations. French Bistro, everything on the menu is delicious, great wine and deserts. Romantic atmosphere but they have a bar for solo patrons as well.

Seafood & Chowders and beer, fun atmosphere and great food. Kinda small and some items a bit pricey (lobster roll), but possible to get fish & chips and beer and have a good time without breaking the bank.

If you can get into this place it has some of the best ramen I've had in the city. Go right as they open to get a table otherwise expect a wait. No delivery or take options.

I come for the fresh baked muffins and pastries, great lattes and coffee. Everything made from scratch. Back patio filled with plants, sit and read the paper (what's that?). Has high chairs for kids and reasonably priced. A lot of locals still haven't found this place.

Known as one of the best bakeries in SF. Some of their items are out of this world but expect a 20-40 minute wait unless you arrive very early.

Adventure Bar, newest bar in town and feels like Indian jones inside. Fun to meet friends and have a mai tai or cocktail. A lot of locals still don't know about this place and it's on our street.

Mission District in my opinion is a must see, walking down Dolores street and look at all the shops, grabbing coffee or tea house, strolling is the best here.

Parks & Nature

Escape the city right up our street with lush trees and great view, then walk down around the corner to Corona Heights Dog park for even more spectacular views overlooking the entire city. Great morning walk to get your blood going up some very steep hills but can be up and back in 30-40 mins.

A sight not to be missed! If you walk up the short rocky trail you are treated to a beautiful 270 degree view of the bay. We enjoy the 20 min walk up 14th st, but you can also drive and park for free next door at Randall Museum and walk up a short street.

Our local park. Such a great park with a section for dogs, great double playground for kids. I enjoy grabbing a coffee at Duboce Park Cafe, crossing the street to a bench then sitting and petting the dogs at the park. Also the backdrop for some movies such as 'The Pursuit of Happiness' where Will Smith runs through the park: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23j-vDzDbBo As well the movie 'Milk'.

Arts & Culture

Randall Museum is free (donation based) and for families, but I think it's fun for adults too. They have a live raccoon, barn owl, fish, snakes, turtles, birds, petting zoo with rabbits, chickens and guinea pigs. Affordable coffee & lates compared to the rest of the city and a breath taking view of the city. We come here weekly with our kid. 10-5pm Tues-Saturday, closed monday and sundays.
