Sightseeing

Salisbury Cathedral is definitely worth a visit, especially at night when it is lit up. Keep an eye out for the peregrine falcons who live at the top of the Cathedral. 900 years of history and one of the largest cathedrals in Europe, with the oldest clock in the world.

Wilton House is very popular in the local area. A lovely cafe and shop inside the grounds. The house and grounds have been used in many blockbuster films and TV shows such as Downton Abbey and Bridgerton. Make sure you book tickets in advance if you want to visit. A lovely setting in the heart of the city, next to the Cathedral. Lots of attractions and a couple of cafes. Lovely to sit in the sun and admire the cathedral. Many excellent Georgian houses to admire, some of which you can pay to enter ( Mompesson House : National Trust ) and a walk further on, with the Cathedral on your left. Stop at the Cloister tea room for a snack in a beautiful setting.

The best way to get into Salisbury is by car

Car or taxi is the best way to get into Salisbury, we don't have public transport coming through the village very often! There are lots of car parks in Salisbury and the best way to get around the city is by walking.
