Castletown house is the largest Palladian style house in Ireland. Built 1722 I recommend doing the guided tour of the house and on a nice day there is a beautiful outdoor terrace cafe. The parklands should also be explored on foot to take in the full extent of 18th century life for the rich in Ireland.

Walking the Grand Canal is one of my favourite local walks. On the walk you can visit the Village at Lyons for food or a coffee and of course there is McEvoy's pub if you are looking for a reward at the end of your exploration.

There are 2 public bus routes to Dublin
The fastest of these as a bus stop just a five minute walk from the front door.
There is a train line out of Celbridge but the station is not a convenient walk away.
