If you want to get away from the port and busy sea side areas, try this restaurant in the small town of Kypseli. It is located on the town's main square opposite the church and has a lovely terrace. The food is of very good quality and more international as opposed to only Greek cuisine found in most tavernas.

For those of you who enjoy some culture during your holidays, this intimate museum of Christos Kapralos' house is just the thing! Entrance is free and there is seldom anyone there so, after viewing his sculptures, you can enjoy sitting in the garden with some of his works around in a very zen atmosphere. I truly recommend it!

A Doric temple in a spectacular setting.
A medieval village of Aegina built in the 9th century; it was the capital of the island until 1826. Today, only 38 basilicas are preserved; few of them in good condition, they are worth visiting for their history and the frescoes preserved up to today. One will also find ruins from the old fortification and water reservoirs of the town. Do not omit climbing up the hill where you can see the traces of Castle (built by the Venetians in 1654) and also enjoy the view of the island’s other side.
Wear good hiking shoes and make sure to go early in the morning during summer months due to the heat.

Try taking a small boat's ride of 10 minutes or so from the village of Perdika and go swimming for the day at Moni Island.
The main beach also has a small taverna.
Just keep in mind that in August, it can get pretty busy at times as there are many sailing boats there.
