My favorite white sand beach. Go early - you have to get a beach parking pass. It's free but in high season they run out often by 8:00am. If so, keep going to nearby Hapuna Beach.

Gorgeous white sand beach 45 minutes north on the Kohala coast. Morning is better as the wind can pick up around noon.

Right next to the Kona Reef on the south side is "Honl's". Lovely for sunbathing, beach yoga, watching surfers and sunsets but I wouldn't recommend swimming there. Rocky entry, waves and currents- not a safe swim beach.
