Probably our favorite cafe in the CHB area is Zinc. Over the years we have been there many times and always found the staff friendly, the coffee of a high standard and a good selection of food for either a morning tea or lunch. Centrally located in Waipukurau, Zinc Cafe is well worth a visit and somewhere we highly recommend to our guests.

Right in the middle of Otane and in the former town library building, McCauley's Cafe is a relaxing and quiet cafe. We have always had a good coffee there and although not an extensive range of food, there is something for everyone. They also have a small range of gifts, jams and preserves.

Arts & Culture

Full of history of the early settler days in Central Hawkes' Bay, this museum is a little gem for Waipawa. Centrally located on the heart of the main street, with easy free parking next door and cafes across the road.

A relaxed, open and most relaxed gallery we have very much enjoyed. Set just off State Highway 2, less than 5 minutes away from our property, Atmosphere Gallery has ample parking and easy access for all. Well worth the visit.

Entertainment & Activities

For those wanting to try out wake boarding, paddle boarding or kayaking on a man made lake, this is the place for you and the whole family. We visited the place about a year ago and was amazed at the facilities that had been created (I'm sure its developed even further since). Well worth a visit during the warmer months.

Parks & Nature

Te Mata Peak provides stunning views of Hawke's Bay, with a 360 degree vista from a beautiful location. Only a short drive from Havelock North township the Peak is well worth the journey, and even though we have been there many times it's still a regular visit for us.

Shopping

If you are looking for relaxed morning shopping and perhaps a coffee and a bit to eat, the Havelock North township provides just the spot. Somewhere we have commended to a number of guests, Havelock North provides a relaxing, up-market feel and with Te Mata Peak only a short drive away.
