Sightseeing

Arguably the best example of a Bastide town in France. The museum has a great explanation in French, with a few panels in English as well. It also has loads of wooden games both inside and outside. We love to take kids (and big kids) here to play the games

Food scene

Famous location for it’s sweet white wines. At the chateau at Monbazillac you can taste their wines, have lunch, walk round the chateau and look down from the escarpment over Bergerac and the Dordogne. A great place to come to sit and watch the 14th July fireworks taking place in the valley. There are lots of other ‘caves’ to visit in the area, where you can try before you buy.
