Sightseeing

This is a fantastic place. Spectacular views. A must see, for sure! This Castle, built in the 14th century to house the troops and protect the Alcazaba, is today one of the most visited moments in Malaga where you can tour its walls with impressive views of Malaga, or enter its Interpretation Center to see his story. It receives its name from a lighthouse that was on its summit (Jabal-Faruk, mount of the lighthouse). Although it was used by the Phoenicians and Romans, it would be the Nasrid king Yusuf I in 1340 who would turn this settlement into a fortress.

The Episcopal Palace is the name given to a group of buildings that make up a large block between calle Santa Marîa, calle Molina Lario, calle Salinas, calle Fresca and the Plaza del Obispo. It is a conglomerate of different buildings of different shapes and styles that have undergone numerous transformations over the centuries, depending on their use. Part of this group of buildings currently houses the Diocesan Museum and is used as an exhibition hall. The construction of the first Episcopal Palace is attributed to the Obispo Diego Ramîrez de Villanueva de Haro, between 1500 and 1525 and its faèade would have been located opposite the entrance to the Cathedral's Patio de los Naranjos.

Malaga Park or Parque de la Alameda, is a park located in the center of the Andalusian city of Malaga, Spain. The design corresponds to a Mediterranean garden with numerous tropical and subtropical species, which make it one of the most important public parks in Europe in terms of exotic flora.1 In this walk with gardens on both sides, of a Renaissance character and baroque, there are botanical species from the five continents. It was built at the end of the 19th century on land reclaimed from the sea, for the expansion of the port in a costly operation.

Neighbourhoods

Nice, gorgeous place. Inside seems even more spectacular than from outside. A must see! The Cathedral of Málaga is a Roman Catholic church in the city of Málaga in Andalusia in southern Spain. It is in the Renaissance architectural tradition. The cathedral is located within the limits defined by a now missing portion of the medieval Moorish walls, the remains of which surround the nearby Alcazaba and the Castle of Gibralfaro. It was constructed between 1528 and 1782, following the plans drawn by Diego de Siloe; its interior is also in Renaissance style.

El Teatro Cervantes is situated right in the centre of the city, near Plaza de la Merced and easy walking distance to other historic monuments such as the Roman Theatre, the Cathedral and the Alcazaba. Built in the late 19th century, it has always been famous for the diversity of its performances; it has hosted dancers, musicians and players alike. The theatre has played host to some of the most famous artistes in the world, from Art Garfunkel to Suzanne Vega and Van Morisson, hosting theatrical stagings of Shakespeare, and classic operas such as Guillermo Tell (William Tell), with frequent homage paid to great composers such as Brahms and Beethoven, by the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra.

Caminito del Rey

If you are going to visit El Caminito del Rey, I would suggest you to buy tickest online in advance. It is very popular and of high demand. https://reservas.caminitodelrey.info/?lang=en
Com moure's per aquí

The most convenient way to move around the city is on foot.

Free parking is very difficult. Paid parking, in principle, is enough. However, if for any reason you need to use a car, I would advise you to order an Uber. You can also rent electric scooters, you can see a lot of them on the streets.
No t'ho perdis

Be sure to stroll around the historic part of the city

You will stay in Malaga Centro, so that you will have an opprtunity to easily access Malaga Cathedral, Alcazaba etc. These are the must from my point of view :)
Costums i cultura

Customs and Culture

As I see it, the Spaniards (and especially the Andalusians) are very friendly and tolerant. Therefore, I don’t have any special tips for following any specific/extraordinary rule.
Formes d'estalviar

How to save

Well.. Malaga itself (still a bit strange) is not an expensive city, comparing to our big Europen cities (its population is about 600.000 now). But you can easily save on you meals while visiting bars and cafes located outside historic part. Probably you will not have a gorgeous views, but the prices will be lower and the quality also will be good.
Què t'has d'emportar

What to bring with you

Of course, it depends on the purpose of your trip and visit plans. But let me repeat: as a rule, in Malaga it is better to walk, then do not forget to bring comfortable shoes
