Walkable Recommendations - food/bev

One of my favorite thing about my place is how close it is to many really good eateries and bars. Why drive when you can meander?!
The food is consistently good. I love it all. Happy hour is between 3 PM and 6 PM daily. Their wings are the best in the city - I think. They smoke them for 24 hours and then flash fry the sauce when ordered. When Blazers are playing, they do $1.00 wings - I think the minimum order is 5? Either way - delicious! Also, not on the menu... They make a great sangria to order.

Great place to relax and enjoy a bottle of rose on their front patio. Their menu is great for snacks and the like as well! They serve there and sell to go. Better on sunny days IMO, but I like to sit.

I have heard good things! If you go - let me know what you think. I usually see a line, but what's Portland if you don't experience a line or protest?

Alberta (still walkable, but it'll take about 15 minutes)

The Alberta Arts District is one of those happening scenes in Portland. Your trip wouldn't be complete without it! Here I'll give you a random list of the places I go to when I have a hankering for people watching!
An easy place to go, be social, and have a drink. Their food is ok - primarily pizza and salad.

Basement wine bar. It has a pretty good selection, decent small plates. The atmosphere is what makes it fun. They're a bit pricey, but it is a wine bar after all!

Great breakfast! I don't recommend them for lunch or dinner, but breakfast is really very good. Pooch and child-friendly! They even make their own homemade baby and dog food.

$6.00 rose!! I love this place. They have sliders for like $5.00 too that are incredibly good. Be careful on a rainy day - last time I was there it smelled like mold. Food is good and the drinks are cheap, so I'll still be going back!

Fremont (still walkable, but can take 10 to 30 minutes)

Fremont is another street nearby. It has tons of restaurants. I'll only list the ones I recommend.
Great place to walk down to for a pastry. Everything is so good and the carb lover in you will thank me. They serve Stumptown coffee and you can eat in, outside, or order to go.

OK... Their buffalo sauce is off the hook. I recommend the raspberry-habanero sauce. Their wings are typically on the small size and do seem to break easily, but it's just a sauce vessel. If you're here in the summer, I'd recommend buying a jar of the sauce, going to New Seasons for some chicken, then fire up the grill in the back.

Amazing! For a walkable breakfast place - this place is off the charts. I really like their crepes. Typically a line, but that's no shocker.

This place is amazing! It's so clean and the staff is fantastic. The pizza is wonderful too. Always freshly made and I believe they use local ingredients when they can. If I'm not with my son, who's in love with their pepperoni pizza, I usually go for their specials.

My Favorite Restaurants for Visitors

Here's a list of where I like to take my family and friends when they come to visit. A little posh, but so fabulously worth it.
Hands down this is my favorite restaurant in Portland. They serve small plates and encourage you to share. I encourage you to share! You really want to try everything on the menu. Their wine guy is fantastic a pairing the plates to YOUR palette as well, which is such a lovely bonus.

The food is good, not exceptional. What is exceptional is the view! You can see all of Portland from there. I'd skip dinner and do happy hour! Enjoy the view and a snack. There are better restaurants in Portland.
