Bemelman’s Bar at The Carlyle hotel is an iconic spot and definitely worth visiting. Think low lights, a piano playing, and gorgeous wall murals. The spot is named after Ludwig Bemelmans, the creator of the children’s book series “Madeline”, who painted the mural that surrounds the space. This is a hot spot for lots of socialites and actors in the area (Woody Allen lives in the Carlyle hotel). It can get very busy so I recommend going earlier in the evening.
