Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val has its origins in a Benedictine Monastery built in the 8th century. Some of the buildings of the main square and the surrounding streets date from the first half of the 12th century - notably older than most 'medieval villages'. The town was historically a stopping point on the pilgrimage path to Santiago de Compostela. Great spot for exploring the impressive scenery of the region and is close to the beautiful Gorges de l'Aveyron. Sunday market (in season so just check in advance).

Nicknamed "hat city" due to milliner production in the late 19th and early 20th century. The straw hat, the famous boater was made in Caussade, and the town still sells a lot of them! Don't miss the local farmers market for wonderful fresh produce on a Monday, only 20 mins from our house. Book for lunch in the Chapeau restaurant.
