Their wildlife conservation efforts include monarch butterfly conservation (through planting of milkweed for migrating monarchs), longleaf pine restoration, flatwood salamander conservation and red-cockaded woodpecker conservation. The Monarch Butterfly Festival is typically held on a Saturday in late October, at the park.
