If you head up to Capital Hill try out the Pine Box. They have a ba-jillion beers on tap with a great international selection and you'd be supporting our neighbor up the street who owns the place. It's in a great location walking distance to tons of other bars and restaurants.

For those gray days when some hot soup is just the ticket, Ramen Man is the play. The Spicy Original is our favorite, but be warned; the orange paste is habanero, and will be roughly 4 out of 5 for your average heat level. Open 4:30 to 10 pm.

There’s no better spot to catch an excellent sunset than Golden Gardens. The park boasts a sandy beach, volley ball nets, playground equipment and views of the Olympic Mountains across the sound. It’s one of two beaches in Seattle where you can light a fire in the designated fire pits while you take in the sunset or kick back and stargaze. The firepits are first come, first served, but we often show up with a bundle of wood and make new friends with the offering. The park opens at 4 am and closes at 11:30 pm. Check out the website for the history and picnic or bathhouse reservations. http://www.seattle.gov/parks/find/parks/golden-gardens-park
