The Cape Penisula Drive is one of our personal favorites. We prefer the route starting in Muizenberg. Drive from there along the sea front past St James with its pretty colourful beach changing rooms, then through Fish Hoek towards Kalk Bay.
Stop at Olympic Cafe, for delicious freshly baked pastries and coffee. Kalk Bay Harbour is directly opposite.
Continue to Simons Town. The yacht harbour has some quaint shops and restaurants and then onto the famous penguins.
The route continues to Cape of Good Hope. And then to Noordhoek, Hout Bay via Chapmans Peak Drive, Llandudno, Camps Bay, Clifton, Sea Point....home.

From there you can walk to the kiosk and buy tickets to enter the beach. Take food and drinks with you if plan to stay a while. You can also walk past the kiosk and walk to the main entrance from there. The little penguins are along the path and you can see them up close where there are nesting.

We like to park at 'Preekstoel', where the barbecues are and walk down to the beach from there. Shallow warm water, soft sand and beautiful views. Take food and plenty water. Beware of sunburn. Please wear hats and sunblock.

The 4,5 route starts at Big Bay, ends at Dolphin Beach. If you start at 'Ons Huisie Restaurant', walk down Stadler Road walking towards Table Mountain. You can pick up a takeaway cappuccino and pastry from a hole-in-the-wall at 'On The Rocks Restaurant'. Continue on Stadler Road turn right onto Sir David Blaird Drive, and right again onto Marine Drive. Great food stalls on the way. Good Bistros at Marine Circle by Kite Beach continue to Dolphin Beach. Walk back for another 4,5km back home.

We love Kleinbaai beach for bathing. It's quite sheltered and has beautiful views of Big Bay and Robin Island. There is parking directly in front of Ons Huisie Restaurant. Look out for the resident seal who like to surf the little waves here.
