It's certainly a cultural experience to come here - it's one of the most traditional bars in the city and you might hear some cueca music. They say it's in the dangerous part of town so if its after dark, a taxi might be your best bet.

It's just down the road from where you'll be staying, and the view is great (but the view from our balcony is better ;)). About a 35 minute bus ride away, this small beach neighbourhood has a white sand beach, bars and restaurants. We recommend walking north along the coastline to the marine reserve, where you'll see sea lions (lobos marinos) and lots of sea birds.

This is well away from the touristic centre of Valparaiso but worth it to watch the lively colony of sea lions just metres away from the shore and great views of Valparaiso's hills from the sea. There's also a great fish market nearby and seafood restaurants on the sand.
