Newlands Forest is a great place to go for a hike or a jog. Beautiful trees and foliage that form part of the Table Mountain Nature Reserve. There is no cost to get in.

Highly recommended. Stellenbosch is a beautiful town, filled with wonderful architecture and quaint boutique shops and restaurants. You'll head through here if you're on your way to Franschhoek.

If you'd like to see the very edge of Cape Town, where its purported that the Atlantic meets the Indian Ocean, then a trip to Cape Point is recommended. It's always windy here, so bear that in mind.

If you're feeling adventurous and need some exercise, a 40min hike up to the top of Lion's Head will give you the most spectacular 360 view of Cape Town. It's not overly tough and definitely worth it.

The Seapoint Promenade is a beautiful walkway that spans about 4km along Seapoint's shorline. Used for walks and runs, it's a fantastic place to take in some fresh sea air.

The reserve is right at the top of Ou Kaapse Weg (a road that climbs straight up the back of Table Mountain). There's a reservoir you can swim in and a hike to Elephant's eye that's easy and fun.

An incredible road construction that lets you drive around the side of the mountain (and through it at parts). The view is incredible and the engineering is phenomenal. It's about R35 one way.

Incredibly beautiful and HUGE national botanical garden. Seriously, it's massive - you can get lost in it. Highly recommended and worth taking a picnic basket along! They also have evening concerts.
