If you've never tried mead, give this a go. They also have a couple of local wines and beers, and some very nice snacks food items. It’s right on the courthouse.

A must see place while in Prescott even if you just pop in to look. An old cowboy bar. That’s burnt down twice and still has tons of history. It has great food, and an impressive array of whisky and tequilla, plus good cocktails. The servers are always dressed up. There’s an outdoor patio at the back too.

Great food with a nice vibe. It’s closed Monday and Tuesday, avoid Wednesday lunchtime as most items are made in house and aren’t stocked back up again until the evening.

This is the best sushi in town, by far! I haven’t tried the rest of the menu, but friends have and enjoyed the dishes. Food is fresh, tasty and there’s a huge variety. It’s busy early and gets quiet after 6:30 even on a Friday.

Hiking and activities

Very pretty lake, they have just opened the access to the lower lake. you can hike around either lake, or a longer hike around both. There are Kayak rentals in the summer on weekends, or you can book them for other days (through a different company). A great spot for picnics, fishing and relaxing! Parking is $3, but is free on Wednesday!

This lake is on the North side of Prescott and is surrounded by incredible rocks. Good hiking trails, it's usually possible to walk all the way around it.

Check before you go, as sometimes it is closed due to protect the Bald Eagles that nest here. There’s a paved path between the two parking lots on the west side, the east side path is more uneven, but not challenging. In the summer, you can rent kayaks and other boats and relax on the lake.

A nice area for a not to strenuous hike. There's a steep portion up to Thumb Butte it's self, but there are some lovely extended trails into the forest that aren't challenging and are fairly shaded. If you have an America the Beautiful pass, it will get you free parking here

The hike up Granite Mountain is amazing, but not the only trail in the area, so it caters for a range of abilities and distances. It’s all gorgeous!

A great trail, that’s an old railroad route, which means it’s fairly flat and easy to navigate. Amazing scenery that’s quite carried.’if you go far enough you end up in Prescott Valley.

Sightseeing

From May to September this is always something happening here on the weekends. Arts and craft shows, live music, wine tasting - be sure to check out what's on while you are here. During December it is transformed into a Christmas wonder with amazing lights and several seasonal events. Even if there isn't anything going on, it's a great place to walk around, or hang out and watch the world go by....

Further afield….

Excellent day trip to an old mining town clinging to the edge of the cliff. Now it's full of artsy stores and restaurants, making a fun place to wander around, lots of great jewelry stores. Make sure to check out the Kaleidoscope store and find the Jail house, that slid down the hill! . The drive there is windy and breathtaking - if you prefer a less exciting drive, go to Cottonwood first and then to Jerome. Bobby D's BBQ is our favorite place for an outdoor patio, great food and really good cocktails! Parking can be tricky, so go early on weekends or peak season.

All their wines are made grapes from several different producers in AZ. They have a lot of different wines, and it's a fun way to spend a couple of hours. They do have a few small plates too. They've always done heavy pours when we've been there - and tasting fees are refunded if you buy a couple of bottles.
