Located in an historic Gaol built in 1863, the Kawartha Lakes Museum & Archives (KLMA) shares and preserves fascinating stories and unique regional artifacts and records. The Kawartha Lakes Museum & Archives dates to 1957, when a group of citizens began collecting, preserving, and sharing the heritage of Lindsay and the surrounding townships under the name of Victoria County Historical Society (VCHS). Following the closure of the County Gaol in 2003, the then VCHS began redeveloping the unique space into a museum—the fourth home of the VCHS since its inception. The old gaol's doors reopened in 2011 as a museum dedicated to sharing community histories.

Since its inception in 1906, the Olympia has always been a family run business. The original owners, the brilliant Bakogeorge brothers, Tony and Andreas created THE OLYMPIA CANDY WORKS, stunningly beautiful candy and ice cream shops, Tony in Lindsay and Andreas in Barrie. Their success swelled into wholesale ice cream, candies and tobacco across southern Ontario and famous Toronto eateries like Diana Sweets. By 1930, the second owners, the Tozios family remodeled it into THE OLYMPIA TEA ROOM, a comforting place to stop in for refreshments and lighter fare as a kitchen was put in. In 1980, third owners, the Karkabasis family took on the legacy of this establishment, simply named, THE OLYMPIA RESTAURANT continued tradition with full service breakfast, lunch and dinner to families and local business community. Today, into its third generation, the Karkabasis and Dedes families extends deep gratitude to their community for support all these years. The core values of warm hospitality, family traditions, celebrating life and a menu inspired by the healthy Mediterranean diet have been their motto. Website: https://www.olympiarestaurant.ca/

Pane Vino, which translates from Italian as 'Bread & Wine' along with Chef Justin Gartshore & Team, bring an interpretation and presentation of Modern Italian cuisine, or what they call Cal-ital cuisine. The vision of Pane Vino is to source fresh locally grown ingredients from our beautiful Region. After residing in the Bay Area of California, Louis was introduced to The 100 mile diet, started by visionary Chef Alice Waters of Chez Panisse fame in Berkeley California. This mantra has been integrated to fully source all of their seasonal ingredients. Working closely with Local farmers who produce their meat, poultry, fish, vegetables & dairy products for their Trattoria & Wine Bar has had an unbelievable effect on the local market & economy of the Kawartha Lakes. Teriyaki Town Restaurant is a healthful, Chef-driven, Asian inspired restaurant that uses local produce, sustainable fish, and innovative ingredients. In 2011, Teriyaki Town began operating in Lindsay Ontario. It was the first restaurant in Kawartha Lakes to serve Japanese cuisine... which was very much appreciated for those who love this cuisine. This innovative concept was inspired by Chef Joo and nutritionist Angie, who own and manage the restaurant. Website: https://www.teriyakitown.ca/home

This place is excellent for lunch, dinner or drinks! Check out their full service main floor restaurant or grab a spot on the patio during the summer. Their menu offers a wide selection of pub favourites, (but it's so much better than your regular pub plates) along with feature items for all tastes. A must: they have an authentic wood burning pizza oven so you might want to save room for a pizza! This is also the Lindsay Brewing Company. Their Ontario Craft Beer selections reflect everything we all love about the Kawarthas. Try one of their five regular brews, seasonal recipes or limited release options, all handcrafted onsite.
